What foods or nutritional supplements help to improve concentration and / or help increase attention span?
I'm 49 and it becomes increasingly difficult to concentrate on one task for any significant length of time. The following basic information may be useful: I live with depression since my 20-year midterm, and I tried several SSRI, without any improvement, although counseling helped some and I attend meetings of the support group as needed. I think my depression and inability to concentrate may be linked. I do not plan to take drugs prescription for either right now, so I wonder if anyone can suggest food and / or supplements that can help. I have already tried & St. John's Wort SAM-e for depression with improved very limited, so ideally I'd like to hear about other supplements or food. I welcome all suggestions and respect all points of view, but please do not suggest a prayer.
